While I’m on the subject of being a furniture nerd, here’s a Herman Miller Eames shell chair I restored last month. The shell was sun-bleached and dirty. I had to clean it up using this guide. The process sucks and involves hours of icky wet sanding and fiberglass dust which has probably taken years off my life. You’re probably better off paying more for a nice one or giving up on buying arbitrarily-overvalued kitsch that most people don’t give a shit about when they walk into your house. Woah sorry that came from a dark place.
